How We Serve

As the Prosper Lions Club presence continues to grow and more people know that we are here, there will be many more opportunities to serve in the community.

In our first year of service here are some of the successful projects the Prosper Lions Club has completed:

  • Collected 500 pairs of glasses and sunglasses that are recycled and used for missions in South America and Africa.
  • Facilitated vision exams and glasses at no cost to 3 children that were referred by a school nurse.
  • December 2015 – Cornerstone Christmas – Provided vision screening for 36 children. Provided eye exams for 18 children. Provided new glasses for 12 children.
  • December 2015 – Prosper Christmas Parade – Provided assistance with parade traffic.
  • December 2015 – Held 1st annual Pancakes with Santa pancake breakfast raising funds to support Cops with a Claus and the Lions charities.
  • April 2016 – Texas Lions Camp workday in Kerrville, TX – Texas Lions Camp is a 700+ acre facility dedicated to providing a week-long summer camp experience for children with disabilities at no cost.
  • May 2016 – Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center – located in Watauga, TX where Lions Clubs across district 2-E2 send donated glasses to be recycled.
  • May 2016 – Adopt-A-Street cleanup – Lions turned out to pick up trash on Coleman near the high school.
